So Many Sweaters, So Little Time!

With year 2006 just around the corner, I started a list of sweaters I want to knit during the new year. This list includes a few sweaters that were begun in 2005 but never completed. Considering the only knitted projects I finished in 2005 were socks, I am sure I am biting off more than I can chew. However, I can dream (fantasize, pretend, etc.).

1. Eris by Girl from Auntie. I began this sweater during the summer but have not even completed the collar. This is so, so sad because the sweater design is gorgeous, the yarn is perfect, and it is fun to knit! This is one of the projects I was working on before my son passed away, and I cannot bring myself to pick it up again. It's like I have a life before his death and another separate life after his death. I know this sounds weird, but it is truly what I am dealing with right now.

2. Mermaid by Hanne Falkenberg. I have the kit in the Turquoise, Sage and Sea Blue colorway and have actually completed about 3 whole inches. This should be a fun, relaxing knit.

3. Pearl Buck Swing Jacket by Kate Gilbert in this Winter's IK.

I recently visited my favorite LYS (Black Sheep Wool Co.) and purchased some gorgeous wine colored merino wool by Lane Borgosesia called Merino Sei. I love, love the design of this jacket and cannot wait to get knitting on it.

4. Marilyn by Beth Brown Reinsel in rust Black Water Abbey yarn.

This is another beautiful pattern and lovely yarn. I purchased the pattern and yarn at the beginning of the year hoping to knit this sweater for my Mom for Christmas. Since it didn't work out for this year, perhaps next? We'll see.

This has gotten to be a rather long post, and I am only halfway through my list. Check back tomorrow and I'll share the rest. Jeez, if I am having a hard time typing the list, just think of the trouble I'll have finding the time to actually knit!
